AFRICA

Currently, Mercy29 Africa is one family oriented, micro-community located in the developing village of “Noviane” within the beautiful city of Pemba, Mozambique. With a property expanse of nearly one acre, 4 local families cooperatively work to share resources and creatively pursue long term inter-dependent sustainability.

This initial Mercy29/Iris Ministries project began in March 2009, with just 12 children and 4 widows. Now since it’s conception, the “Casa de Fogo” (Aptly named by the children the “House of Fire”) has grown to become home for nearly 30 people, including 20 needy children. Casa de Fogo is seen as a prototype for what Mercy29 desires to duplicate within the villages of the Nations we serve.

Our goal is that these adopted families may work together as one, becoming completely inter-dependent, sharing resources and other necessities to create an environment of long term sustainability without the need of foreign financial support.
